The Adopt-a-Rugger Fundraiser is your chance to directly support current SIU Men’s and Women’s Rugby players while reconnecting with the program in a fun, personal way.

👉 This is the ONLY Old Loads fundraiser where 100% of the money goes directly to the current teams for them to use however they see fit.

No restrictions, no middle steps—just direct impact.

For just $100, you can “adopt” a current player—giving you a built-in connection for Old Loads Weekend and helping fuel the program.

💰 The Opportunity

 

We currently have:

• 19 Men’s Players Available

• 13 Women’s Players Available

 

That’s 32 total players and a goal of $3,200 going straight to the teams.

You’ll be matched with a current player who might be:

• Scoring their first try (or still chasing it)

• Playing every position on the field

• Fueling tournament runs with banana bread

• Breaking thumbs… multiple times

• Planning their future as doctors, pilots, scientists, or something in between

 

Most importantly—you’re directly supporting the same kind of experience that made SIU Rugby what it is today.

2. Select your top 3 player choices

3. Players are assigned based on first come, first served (timestamped form submissions)

4. Once matched, you’ll be contacted with payment details and introduced to your player

⚠️ Important Guidelines

• Each player will be matched with one Old Load only

• If you want to adopt as a group, that’s totally fine:

  • One person submits the form

  • Your group coordinates payment separately

• If your top choice is taken, you’ll be assigned your next available option

• If you only want one specific player, select them for all three choices

Accepted methods:

• Cash (Thursday night of Old Loads Weekend)

You will receive instructions once your adoption is confirmed.
