We are excited to announce that we are still seeking dedicated and passionate candidates to fill open positions on the SIRFC Alumni Board. We are looking for a diverse group of candidates who can represent both the men and women, as well as the different age groups, of our alumni. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact, connect with fellow alumni, and contribute to the growth and success of our alumni organization.
Open Positions:
VP of Fundraising – 2yr Term
The VP of Fundraising is responsible for organizing and executing fundraising events and initiatives for alumni. This role involves close collaboration with the Treasurer to ensure financial transparency and effective budget management, as well as exploring sponsorship opportunities to enhance fundraising efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
Organize and execute fundraising events and initiatives for alumni.
Collaborate with the Treasurer to establish budgetary needs, streamline fund deposits, and maintain transparent records.
Ensure all alumni events are properly contracted to protect event integrity and promote transparency.
Submit contracts to the President and Treasurer for review and approval by the BOD.
Explore sponsorship opportunities to enhance fundraising efforts, including direct team sponsorship, affiliate sponsorship, and 501C affiliated sponsorships.
Announce and promote fundraising events in collaboration with the BOD and membership.
Ensure all fundraising events are open, ethical, and non-controversial.
Create and maintain an annual fundraising schedule and report progress during Corporation Board meetings.
Qualifications:
Strong organizational and event planning skills.
Experience in fundraising and sponsorship acquisition.
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Proficiency in financial management and record-keeping.
Ability to work ethically and transparently, ensuring all events uphold the integrity of the Corporation and SIU.
Media Director – 2yr Term
The Media Director (MD) is responsible for brand development through digital media. This role involves creating and maintaining an effective content strategy to increase outreach and engagement, managing all digital media platforms, and recommending new digital tools to streamline operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain an effective content strategy for increased outreach and engagement through the Corporation website and Facebook page.
Manage all digital media for the Corporation, including the website, email address list, and Facebook page.
Increase participation of membership and student players in the Corporation email listserv through solicitation at alumni events and coordination with the Secretary.
Recommend the use of other digital platforms or media for the Corporation, BOD, or Committees to streamline business operations.
Qualifications:
Strong skills in digital media management and content strategy development.
Experience with website and social media management.
Excellent communication and outreach abilities.
Ability to collaborate effectively with other board members and committees.
Proficiency in identifying and implementing new digital tools to enhance operations.
Secretary – 2yr Term
The Secretary is responsible for maintaining effective communication between alumni members and current men's and women's team points of contact. This role involves meticulous record-keeping, managing communication channels, and ensuring adherence to organizational bylaws and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain communication between alumni members and current team points of contact.
Keep all records related to the Board of Directors (BOD) in good working order for succession.
Update and manage BOD rosters and the SIU Old Loads email listserv.
Notify BOD and members of upcoming meetings and distribute agendas.
Record and distribute meeting minutes to board members and Corporation members.
Maintain and publish Corporation By-Laws for the membership.
Ensure compliance with By-Law rules, procedures, and policies.
Collaborate with the Media Director on email listserv, social media, and other platforms.
Qualifications:
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Proficiency in managing email lists and digital communication platforms.
Experience in record-keeping and compliance with organizational policies.
Ability to work collaboratively with other board members and committees.
